Something happened today that relates to the earlier... thought i had so I wanted to relay it to you all. A lot of you understand the importance of prom. It's not just a school dance when you are a senior. It's one of the last times you and all your "friends" will be together before you graduate and go off to different colleges. I have this friend, Katie, my one my best friends. She has been there when I was dealing with a lot of really awful things. She was one of the few people whom I called friends that I thought I would definetely make an effort to keep in touch with when I moved. Today, the day we have to call and make the limo reservation, she still hadn't decided what limo she was going to ride on. Let me give you a little backround at this point. Earlier, I quit my school newspaper of which I had been the opinion page editor. A girl with whom I was once friends found out about it and ran to the advisor and one of the editors-in-chief and told them. This made the whole thing bigger than it needed to be and was also the deciding factor in excluding me from a trip I had already paid for. Now, because I did have friends who were her friends, I was atleast trying to be civil up to this point. Then I stopped. I refused to ride in a limo with her to prom and was in no way going to agree to go to dinner with her. What she did was wrong and more than that, she stuck her in nose in something that wasn't any of her business and ruined certain things for me. Ok, so, I said I wasn't riding in a limo her. Everybody knows it, it's no secret. Katie says at lunch, and not even to my face but tells someone else to tell me, that she has decided to ride with Kaitlin. The part that upsets me the most is that she didn't have enough respect for me or our friendship to even come to me. And knowing Katie as I do, I know that tommorow she will act as if nothing had happened and probably not even mention it. This is what I was talking about. This is what I meant about the high school friendships thing. What kind of person are you?
